War Ink, Nonprofit, Digital Product Experience, Website

War Ink was created out of a desire to improve communications between American vets and the general public. The artwork that soldiers adorn their bodies with serves as a starting point to learning about their personal experiences in wartime. With photography and video interviews produced by StoryCorps, the website’s goal was to create a new way of understanding the effects on war for both the soldiers and society, as well as to honor the brave for their service.

The War Ink project was featured by over 150 major publications including Mashable, PBS News Hour, USA Today, BuzzFeed, and the Chicago Tribune. The project was also nominated for a Webby Award and was included in Print Magazine's Regional Design Annual.
